Hi there, I am Olivia
I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Seattle, United States.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What started as a temporary contract gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn't in the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily chores seemed more tangled than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of learning on the job. Yet gradually routines emerged. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Glad Field Relay
The majority of online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real-life experience in United States.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in United States
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in United States goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Seattle or anywhere in United States, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Olivia
